Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Reviewed the assigned practice exam. Reviewed the English section, science section, and reassigned the same math section. Focus placed on improving the student's ability to use deductive reasoning in the science section."
"1. Studied different flavors and fruits then matched them with colors already studied. 2. Completed study of the plural forms of the verb SER (to be) and practiced sentences with new nouns about school and adjectives describing the school and students. 3. Learned the names of courses studied in school and described them with new adjectives. 4. Learned about cognates (words that are the same or almost the same in English and Spanish but are pronounced differently. "
"The student had completed the math sections of the first test in the blue book. She had the correct answer for almost every question that she answered! As we reviewed each one, we stopped so that I could explain the concept."
"The student and I spent the session working on math problems. We identified percentages, exponent rules, word problems involving systems of equations, and geometry problems with the unknown third side of a triangle."
"We worked on the student's social studies homework, which was to read a lesson and answer three open ended questions. She read each paragraph out loud and we discussed the main points before moving forward."
"This past session we reviewed a lot of vocabulary, especially that pertaining to the human body. The book that I had given the student to use was full of basic sentences, many of which he said he recognized being used in the hospital. Previously, we went over medical vocabulary specific to maxillofacial surgery, considering that was the most important at the time. Now however, he grasps Spanish well so it makes sense to broaden the vocabulary."
