Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered the concepts of calculating means of distributions, confidence intervals with z-scores, confidence intervals with a t-distribution, calculating observed values using the z-scores and percentiles, and expected values. We went quickly through questions she had about this specific homework assignment. She seemed to grasp the concepts very well overall."
"We covered the normal distribution, the 68-95-99.7 rule, and sampling distribution, more specifically the distribution of the same mean. We also looked at using the standard normal table to find probabilities."
"We covered the uniform distribution and the normal distribution. Topics included the density curve and finding probabilities for different values from these distributions. The student is having a difficult time following the material in class. This was a productive session in that the student had a better understanding of the material by the end of our session."
"We did a comprehensive review of all material covered in the last weeks in preparation for a test. The student understands the material but makes errors when it comes to the small details of a problem. I have told the student a few ways in which he can help mitigate this."
"We did a review of online quizzes for Chs. 7 and 8 of the student's statistics course. She seems to understand hypothesis testing but sometimes struggles with maintaining the correct order of operations when plugging in to the formula. She seems to have greater understanding of statistical concepts, however."
"We finished the student's practice review pretty quickly and helped clarify how to deal with probability distributions. Going into the session, she seemed pretty shaky some concepts, so I tried to make the session as interactive as possible, relying on her to figure out the problems independently as much as possible."
