Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued to focus on math practice questions from the library of resources. Soon we will switch to science which was the other area she wanted to review."
"We worked on the English section, focusing on picking the best of multiple correct answers. In math, we went over dividing by fractions, the reciprocal rule, and solving inequalities."
"During our initial session, we focused on the math section. We reviewed percentages, midpoints, equations of lines, and the trigonometry ratios."
"Today, the student and I focused on the Reading portion of the ACT. We talked about not spending too much time thoroughly reading and rereading the texts, as well as underlining key points throughout both the text and the questions to make answering the questions easier. She was struggling most with time management, and being able to complete everything she needed to efficiently. We did work on some practice problems together, but I suggested she work on many on her own. Having physical texts to work off of, in my opinion, is very beneficial to improving on the Reading portion of the ACT. Her homework for tonight is to attempt another practice test. Tomorrow, we will focus on the English portion of the ACT."
"Today, the student and I mostly discussed the math section of the ACT. We discussed a variety of concepts and continued working to develop his notes and references on the subject. I reiterated that the key to success on the ACT is focused, daily practice that includes timed passages in the various subjects of the test. If he really applies himself to the material, I'm confident that he has the aptitude to perform well."
"Today, the student and I reviewed a new practice math section. We got through forty questions. For homework, he must complete the rest of the practice test within the specified time limits."
