How can a tutor assist you in conquering GMAT?

The Graduate Management Admission Test, better known as the GMAT, may be the most important exam in your business career. It is three and a half hours long, with four different sections: analytical writing, verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and integrated reasoning. The exam is designed to predict how students would perform in an MBA program, and graduate business schools decide who may be admitted to the program using these scores. The exam is tough, as it is designed to weed out those who may not perform well in business school. Luckily, Varsity Tutors may find you a professional GMAT tutor in Omaha, NE, with the experience necessary to try to help you get the score you want and into the business school of your dreams.

When you call our educational directors in Omaha, they may get right to work finding the perfect GMAT tutor for you. They may take into account your preferred learning style, personality, schedule, and topics of difficulty when finding the tutor for your needs. If you want to meet early in the day over your morning coffee, that may be arranged. If late at night in your own home is the only time you are able to meet, a tutor may be happy to meet you then. Your tutor may even meet you online through the Varsity Tutors face-to-face live learning platform on especially busy days.

Session Summaries by GMAT Tutors

Omaha, NE GMAT tutoring
In this session, the student and I worked through a set of quantitative reasoning problems from his book. He is performing better on this part of the GRE than when we had started, and it is apparent in two ways. First, he is much more knowledgeable regarding the content involved in this section, and is able to answer most of the questions fairly quickly. He is also more able to identify when a problem is particularly difficult and can move on from it without wasting much time. We talked about some additional strategies to help him visualize the way to solve certain problems that were giving him trouble. In particular, we talked about drawing geometric figures and solving for two variables as a group. I believe these tactics will help him as the main problem he has with the math section is how to set up the problem. He will complete some timed practice online for our next session.

We covered the following concepts: GMAT data sufficiency problems with the following cases: where the answer cannot be determined or there are multiple possible answers ("statements together are not sufficient") and where statements presented offer the same categorical information ("either statement alone is sufficient" if any statement is sufficient); time management of quantitative questions; GMAT Verbal conjunctions; the two uses of apostrophes (to show possession and to make a contraction); and the three methods of separating stand-alone clauses (full sentences with periods, coordinating conjunctions, and semicolons). The student is very strong at identifying these types of questions now and formulating responses in the procedural way (to save time, and address the unique question type in a more straightforward way). The student agreed to study concepts before the next scheduled meeting so as to come with prepared questions.
