Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we covered the topics of complex fractions and dividing polynomials. Then, we applied these topics to several problems. We used common denominators to add fractions and simplify expressions, and the student needs to revisit long division."
"We covered derivatives of various composite functions by the chain rule, and computed the tangent lines to certain composite functions. The student needed help with chain rules involving rational functions, so we went over that in detail. She confirmed her answers with my answers before submitting her answers."
"We covered exponential functions. She had a pretty good concept of the material. If anything, it was setting up the graphs. She felt great about the material. We went over ways to setup graphing of exponential functions. This allowed her to find and understand the limits of these functions easier. She had more practice to finish from."
"We covered limit and continuity of functions. The student was struggling on vertical and horizontal asymptote. The student was willing to learn and was asking questions during the session. I requested to the student to memorize rules which are key to solve any questions. I did not leave any extra practice, nor see any score or grade. For wins, the student showed an understanding of the part that he had struggles on."
"We covered limits and introduction to derivatives. We also went over simple concepts about limits and how to take the first few steps with derivatives. Overall, the student's math seems pretty good, it will just depend on how much he studies and remembers a lot of the identities, especially trig, for his test/exam."
"We covered limits briefly, trigonometric equations, evaluating trig functions and expressions with inverse trig functions, and we worked through a squeeze theorem problem in preparation for the student's exam on Friday. She seemed to understand the material fairly well, and I think she was optimistic after the session concluded. After working with her, I can tell she is prepared to succeed in the class this time around!"
