The student worked through the 5th and final statistics 7-question worksheet and completed it satisfactorily. She understands many of the statistics concepts and their practical application. She understands medical testing, polls and surveys, etc., and how to calculate several probabilities from different distributions both experimentally and theoretically. She is very adept at using her TI graphing calculator to perform linear regression analysis. Next week, we will commence with integration/calculus and will spend the next several weeks mastering all things involving integration. We will also work on finding the area under the graph of a function and what this represents in a practical sense.

Today, we covered 9.3 in his statistics unit, which introduced the idea of proportion distribution. We worked on an example problem together at first using the PHANTOM approach that he learned from school. Then I had him do a problem on his own, which he was able to complete flawlessly. We also went over 10.2 in physics, which involved transparency and opaqueness of material and the relationship between natural frequency and frequency of light.

Today was one of the most satisfying sessions with the student. She's getting to the point where she can break down every problem and begin seeing the bigger picture. She is making connections between different topics, specifically how normal and binomial distribution are related and most importantly how the professor can ask questions regarding those two distributions. She's also connecting material from different chapters and has a bigger sense of how all the topics are related. I'm looking forward to keep working with her to see how far she can go. Her hw is to begin compiling a guide.
