How can a Finance tutor help you?

Financial literacy is essential if you are looking to earn a degree in finance or business. Some students may find finance to be a subject that is fairly easy to grasp, but others may find it confusing or difficult. If you are the latter, know that every student learns differently and sometimes needs someone to help them figure out how they learn best. The solution to this problem? Preparing for your course with an expert finance tutor in Oklahoma City.

While topics like earning income, creating a budget, comparison shopping when buying goods and services, saving for the future, and using credit may be familiar to you, there are many nuances that may trip up even those who are careful. Varsity Tutors may help you find a skilled, independent tutor near Oklahoma City who may guide you on the path toward finance understanding. An experienced tutor may know the financial world inside and out, and be able to pass that knowledge directly to you. They may work with you to determine how you learn best, as well as which parts of the subject cause you the most trouble in class. Your tutor may try to help you apply the lessons you learn in class to your own day-to-day life, allowing you to grasp the fundamentals of protecting and insuring belongings, financial investing, and more. Whether you're learning how to compare interest rates, what to look for in the fine print, or the terminology used in finance, they may provide guidance and feedback at your own pace. What may have once seemed like a chore may become exciting once a tutor who is passionate about financial literacy helps you make sense of the sometimes complicated and intense subject.

The student went over the new section of the book he was covering in Intermediate Micro. He then did the suggested problems about the theory of the firm which covered AVC, AFC, ATC and MC curves. We did a few problems involving all of those concepts. He seems to be doing pretty well with the material and understands the concepts behind the mathematical formulae (which is the key element of economics anyway).

The student wanted assistance in reviewing financial statement information for a worldwide corporation, specifically focusing on the evaluation of performance based upon common size analysis (income statement and balance sheet) and trend analysis also for both reports. We were able to evaluate the income statement, and started working on the balance sheet. I indicated that I will continue to review this statement to pinpoint areas of focus that we can discuss during our next session. She had already successfully completed the history and stock analysis portion and added comments related to stock split information. She will also work on the rest of the ratio analysis, but we will review this and/or review what may have been completed during our next session as well.

We covered many topics tonight, concentrating on review session question involving budget constraints and their relationship with indifference curves, solving equilibriums and elasticity of demand functions from equations for demand and supply curves, and solving for a monopolistic equilibrium and the implications thereof. The student has a great understanding of the material, and while she struggles a bit on the pure arithmetic, it is clear to me that she mostly understands the concepts behind them. I have enjoyed working with her in both sessions we have had, and I think her positive attitude will undoubtedly have a positive effect on her performance on her test tomorrow. I am looking forward to hearing from her about how her test was, and hope that I can work with her more into the future.

We worked through a practice midterm to help the student prepare for his midterm exam. The midterm problems involved supply and demand, elasticity, consumer preferences and utility, and budget constraints. I encouraged him to focus on reworking the test problems to help prepare him for time pressure on the test.
