"The student did the homework in her Pre-Algebra class on solving linear equations with fractions. We also went over the problems discussed in class which the student said were confusing to many in the class. She struggled a bit on finding the LCD for linear equations with rational coefficient and constants. She also makes a few mistakes with computations involving fractions and integers. She worked at a steady pace and indicated good interest. I taught her a new technique for obtaining the Least Common Denominator. Did not see any scores or grades to note progress yet. I encouraged her to practice on her own using the textbook's remaining odd as well as even numbers that we haven't worked out."
"The student did very well today! We went over rate of change, and she was very independent with the problems by the end of our session! Great work!"
"The student did very well today. We started the lesson by focusing on multi-step word problems, and then she wanted to learn about how to multiply decimals. Once I explained the process to her, she was on a roll. She really enjoyed being able to take some ownership in her learning. I am looking forward to next week."
"The student did very well with the exponents tonight. I wanted to show him the 'rule' that goes with what he was doing but didn't want to jump ahead of his teacher. I'm looking forward to working with your daughter. Let me know if the time slot we discussed will work for her. With the time zone difference, I'm sure we can find something that will work on both ends. Thanks!"
"The student did well today. He practiced his spelling words and we went over the sounds ou and oi. We also addressed how useful it is to use syllables to break words apart for spelling. Next, I helped him with a foldable for grams and kilograms. It will help him match mass with items. I found some worksheets on line to work through for additional practice. He did well understanding the concepts of the mass of items. Good job."
"The student didn't have any class work to go over as she just completed a quiz in class. Therefore, I found relevant questions online that corresponded with her future syllabus and found problems that tested her prior knowledge. We covered PEMDAS, ratios, rates, unit rates, proportions, cross multiplying, rational vs irrational numbers, rational operations, finance word problems, area and volume, and units of area and volume. She proved to me that she can perform decimal operations by hand, follow order of operations, and solve area and perimeter problems. I covered material that will be on her next unit, and once I explained things she got it. She did an excellent job!"
