"The student did well today. He worked on dividing and multiplying fractions. A majority of the problems required at least 3 steps. With prompting Will was able to work through the problems. We will work on creating a process that he can use to work through challenging problems. We will take a few steps back and work through one step multiplying fractions to provide the student with repetitive practice. We also worked on some multiplication problems, and I showed him how to use various methods like repeated addition, using pictures and counting on fingers to multiply more easily."
"The student didn't really need a lot of help from me today; his algebra class had backtracked a little, and he worked through an assignment over distribution and combining like terms, on which he only made a couple of arithmetic errors. He also had some Spanish vocabulary review to work on today; that went smoothly as well."
"The student didn't write down his math homework this week; he said he didn't look at the board and that his teacher didn't mention it, so I asked him to find out tomorrow and wrote a note in his agenda to remind him. He needed to finish a plotting worksheet for social studies, so I had him finish that. I also saw that he didn't answer the questions from his reading worksheet that he was supposed to do after I left on Tuesday last week, so I had him fill it in. He also has a vocab assignment due on Friday, so if he doesn't have it finished by our session on Thursday we'll work on it then."
"The student does well solving, writing, and graphing inequality. He still struggles with word problems, but we have been practicing over the past couple of sessions and having him point out the keywords in the problems. I left him extra practice for our session on Wednesday."
"The student finished 20 out of 30 math homework problems, including multiplication, square root, adding, subtracting, measurements, estimating and money. The student seems to be comprehending multiplication, which is good. His addition and subtraction skills are good. He will need help memorizing his multiplication tables. Quick flash card review or conversation might be beneficial. I gave him a math worksheet to work on before Wednesday. I will continue to work on his focus with short breaks between groups of problems."
"The student finished a short homework assignment with me checking her answers. I then looked at a previous test, and made up questions on the ones she got wrong to have extra practice. We then went over some basic concepts of decimals that I felt she needed to know."
