Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went over some geometric and arithmetic sequences. I advised him and his friends with the homework they had due for the week, as well as some other material he was assigned. The session went well."
"We went over the equation for parabolas. I explained the focus and the directrix in relation to the vertex and the LR. We went over how to solve for and graph these equations given any of these points."
"Reviewed for her test tomorrow. Went over law of cosines, then discussed when to use law of sin or cos. Finally discussed how word problems work with the questions, and how to apply the knowledge to figure out what to do."
"Worked on 5.3 and 5.4 (compound interest and logarithmic functions). We also worked on Physics chapter 17.2 formative assessment (current and resistance). She also made improvements to her last physics test to improve her grade from a 75 to an 84."
"The student has transitioned to solving exponential equations. We spent our time reviewing properties of exponential and logarithms. As it was a new unit, he did not have many questions with the material. He's excited to be graphing functions again."
"During this session, we focused on learning about the features of the graphs of rational functions. We talked about how to identify x-intercepts, y-intercepts, and asymptotes of these functions by analyzing the equation, and how to use the graph of a rational function to write a possible equation. Since rational functions can be quite difficult to work with at first, we started with a general review of the concepts from the section and then moved on to doing sample problems."
