Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student read his new book out loud and summarized what was going on before he started reading. We then worked on comprehension by doing a story board of his favorite book. He picked 6 events and summarized them and drew pictures to go with them. He worked on point of view of a story. We are creating and writing a story from a shoes point of view. We will finish up next session. He didn't understand point of view at first but I did a few additional examples which helped."
"Today, we started a 2 level reading exercise. First, we read a chapter of a book from the series. While reading this book, we trade off every paragraph. Then, the student reads a story out loud. At this time, I ensure that every word is pronounce properly, or he will have to read the page again and again until the page is read properly. I also suggested a few workbooks for him to work on at future sessions."
