Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student's second composite ACT score from the ACT prep guide was a 29. This is a solid 2 point increase from her diagnostic. She could have done significantly better in the Math section. In the English section, she had challenges with some of the more wordy questions (those questions which contained specific instructions for finding the correct answer). We reviewed her wrong answers, and I assigned practice test #3 to be completed and reviewed during out next session. We'll be shooting for a 30+."
"The student and I went over Hess' Law as well as some general quantum theory principles. She had a much better understanding of the material, especially with regards to quantum theory. My wave function app really helped her understanding significantly."
"In this session we covered adjectives and their uses. The student did several exercises and I helped her out with her grammar. Next week we will cover material she needs to review for her first test. The student is learning a lot and she is doing very well!"
"We started by putting cells, DNA, genomes, and the body into context. We discussed what a cell is and how the DNA within a cell contains all of the information the cell needs to grow and differentiate. We then discussed the cell cycle and went through the stages of interphase, mitosis, and cytokinesis and drew diagrams as we went along."
"Today was our first session, and we worked on solving derivative problems in Calculus. We spent most of the time learning about the definition of the derivative by using knowledge of finding limits and slopes of tangent lines."
"Today we covered the basics of a mac operating system and certain tips and tweaks to make it an enjoyable experience for a user switching from PC to Mac. It went really well. I look forward to our session on Thursday."
