Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered chapter 8, which talked about urbanization and further formation of economic and social changes within big cities. We also did half of chapter 9, which discussed women's voting rights and the rights of African Americans. We briefly discussed President Theodore Roosevelt, before concluding the session."
"The student and I used our session on Monday to study for the American history test on WWII, that she had on Tuesday. We made it through her entire study sheet, which was great! I expect that she did well on that test, and we'll use our next session to review for her science test next week."
"The student and I discussed final revisions to his essay. Very little of the beginning half needed work, as we had already intently focused on that section of his paper during previous sessions. We spent a majority of the time hashing out appropriate and beautiful sounding transitions. Some were easier and only required a rewording of a sentence or two, others were more difficult and required reformatting of parts of paragraphs. Focusing once more on the latter half of the paper, the student made sure players were introduced succinctly, grammar and syntax were varied and correct, and run-ons were broken up and fragments extracted. We ended with agreeing on which portions of the paper needed the most attention - namely the conclusion - and specific points in the final paragraphs which ought be reworded. He said he will also be double-checking sources and making sure all appropriate sentences are cited correctly. He will reword the parts of the paper that need additional attention, and we will meet again for the final time at 6pm on Sunday."
