Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over homework and extension questions, working on geometry. We went over area and perimeter for rectangles, squares, and triangles and some other basic concepts for these shapes."
"The student and I went through more probability lessons and he's almost ready for his test. Another session tomorrow."
"The professor handed back the test that the student took the other day. We went through the entire thing and went through the problems that she got wrong. We finished reviewing all incorrect problems."
"We went over a couple of the questions from last week's midterm exam, then worked on the practice questions for the quiz the student has tomorrow. The topics included partial fractions, integration by separation of variables, and using u-substitution for integration. She is doing pretty well, it is a lot of material to cover and the concepts continue to become more advanced. She is staying on top of studying, and I will send additional example problems to help her continue preparing for the quiz."
"We are ahead of the lesson plan now, and I am teaching the student subjects that are coming up, including partial fractions, L'Hopital's rule, arc length, and improper integrals. We covered where each of the formulas given in the books comes from and made sure she understood the formula before we moved on to practice problems. Once she understood the formula, she ran through problems easily."
"Today we had the student do a lot of problems to prepare for her test Friday. We focused on trig identities to make integrals solvable by hand. The problem with a hanging wire using cosh was easily understood and we did a practice problem with that to make sure she understood the material. She will need to memorize her logarithmic derivatives and integrals to make sure she can use these on her exam. It's a simple matter or memorizing these formulas and then using them is very easy."
