Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over exercise 8 and reviewed for her test, which includes finding the coefficient, terms and probability"
"We completed a practice test over solving systems of equalities/equations. She did very well and is prepared for the test on Monday."
"Continued discussing calculus on parametric curves. Introduced hyperbolic trig functions. Discussed identities, derivatives, and trig substitution."
"The student and I covered section 6.1 and 6.2 in preparation for her quiz tomorrow. We did indefinite and definite integrals in addition to addressing other calculus problems. We solved initial value problems using first and second derivative as well as plotted slope feelings. She seems to understand the material very well."
"We covered how to graph a function (concavity, inflection points, regions of increasing/decreasing functions), evaluating limits using conjugates, graphing limits, evaluating limits from the left/right side as it approaches a value, limits involving trig functions, limit simplification, limits as x approaches zero or infinity, and logarithmic limits. It was a very productive session."
"During our session, the student and I worked through several different problems from a packet of calculus review provided in class. This packet contains many different problems from past AP exams, and therefore tests a large variety of topics from all areas of the course. We worked on problems covering rate of change, equations of tangent lines, average velocity, interpretations of integrals, the limit definition of the derivative, the Intermediate Value Theorem, points of inflection, and calculating velocity given an equation for acceleration. He understood all of the material very well as we worked through each step, and he should have no trouble applying what was learned during our session to similar problems in the future."
