Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Completed Section 1 Review - Order of Operations; Variables; Solving Equations; Evaluating Expressions; Word Problems."
"We introduced sampling distributions and standard error. We will continue with this topic during our next session."
"During this session we want over finding the slope of curves through use of tangent lines, secant lanes, and tangent slope line formula aka derivatives. The student understood the concepts by the end of session and felt more comfortable. Overall this session went well."
"We had a string of questions asking for a graph to an exponential function (usually including an asymptote at y = 0). At one point, I hopped on to the student's course website so that I could help decipher how our solutions were supposed to be inputted prior to creating the graph. Later we dabbled with a logarithm question, a few systems of equations solved graphically, and another round of symmetry questions for a bunch of graphs."
"I assessed the student using a 3rd grade beginning of the year assessment to understand the student's strengths and weaknesses. His attitude toward the learning is positive! I included some mental math strategies. He is making progress!"
"We worked on the factoring packet. We talked about factoring cubics using a special formula and how to plug it in. We also talked about graphing and how to find equations of lines. Finally we plotted graphs using absolute value and found the equation of graphs with absolute value."
