Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Negative positive numbers based on PEMDAS concepts, gave homework and more practice problems on the above mentioned concepts."
"The student and I reviewed her math exam on geometry--which she did fairly well on! We discussed the problems marked incorrect and she understood her mistakes. We practiced long division since that is her current unit in school. Our challenge problems consisted of calculating advanced elapsed time."
"Reviewed division of rational numbers, counting principle, probability of an event, changing fractions to percents, percent problems."
"We spent this session going over classification of quadric surfaces, and sketching them using traces. The student has a pretty good idea of how to classify and sketch. In addition, we worked some problems involving planes and lines in 3D space."
"We went over ellipses and hyperbolas. The student worked several problems to find the formula of ellipses as well as graphing them. His class had not yet covered these topics, so all the information was new to him. He got a good start on the information and with more exposure he will understand them better. He also said that that he thought he did well on his algebra test that he was preparing for last week."
"We specifically went over the sampling distribution of the sampling proportion, and did some problems that relate to this concept. The student was able to understand the chapter, but has trouble seeing the difference between the sampling distribution of the sampling mean and the sampling distribution of the sample proportions. To help her, I left her to finish more of the review questions at home. Overall, the session was excellent."
