Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed for his English vocabulary test and his Central/South America map test. He did great!"
"I met for the first time with the student to assess his needs to move forward. He was able to count to 5 before confusing 6 with 7. He seemed to enjoy working on the computer. His mom told me that he has an online letter learning account that we may use to help him. I assessed the student's fine motor skills by having him trace horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lines. We practiced writing the letter A."
"The student and I went over the outline for his upcoming paper. He seems to have a bit of a hard time figuring out strong topic sentences, and is still working on integrating evidence and analysis. I recommended he go through his note sheets and highlight which information he plans on using to make the next steps a little easier!"
"We covered math concepts and study habits. We also talked about ways of approaching and communicating with teachers when confused about an assignment or trade. I left the student with the homework of meeting with his English teacher to discuss his grade."
"The student completed his grammar pages on possessive pronouns. Once the homework was completed, we reviewed some math pages he brought home, correcting a few errors. We then worked at some multiplication sites on the computer. I left him with some other sites to check out for multiplication facts and two-place multiplication. We will work on them more on Thursday."
"We went over the student's binder for school and talked about some organizational tips he might use to make his materials more manageable. We talked about preparing for high school, and the differences in school work that he may face. Next time we may look at his organization online and see if the tips I suggested worked for him."
