Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued with hypothesis testing for a one-sample z-test. We reviewed finding standard error and critical values. We introduced t-tests."
"With Student 1, we went over dividing decimals. With Student 2, we went over graphing points in the coordinate plane. Both boys demonstrated understanding of the work by the end of the session."
"The student and I went through a few practice problems in preparation for a test. Topics included implicit differentiation, differentiation of trig functions, product rule, chain rule, quotient rule, and related rates. She seemed to have a decent grasp on most of these topics."
"We covered more of Chapter 7 involving identities, substitution, and worked on problems from the book. We also went over Trapezoidal, Midpoint, and Simpsons rules and assigned problems from each of the sections."
"Because the student had not yet received her last mock exam back yet, we were not able to go over the exam. She had completed an entire short answer section and wanted to go over a few of the problems in order to reinforce her knowledge. Afterwards, she mentioned that she wanted to work on standard normal curve problems, which she completed with no problems. I recommended that she spend some time this week going back through her old assignments and identifying areas where she needs a little extra practice. We will pick up with this practice first thing next week."
"She has a major exam coming up on Wednesday, so we went over long multiplication and division (to make sure she takes her time in carrying over numbers), as well as word problems. With the word problems, I recited them to make sure I could keep her focused on the problem and listening for key words."
