Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This session covered Mendel's Laws, probability, genotype vs. phenotype, and Punnett squares. The student seemed to have a good grasp on the material. After he completed his assignments, we went ahead to talk about incomplete and codominance, multiple alleles, and polygenic inheritance. We then used blood typing as an example of multiple alleles and codominance, and did some Punnett squares to predict blood types."
"This week, the student and I worked on concepts in evolution. We discussed Darwin's ideas as well as other scientists such as Lamarc, and went through the vocabulary associated with the unit. She was struggling with remembering all of the vocabulary, so we discussed studying using a phone app which acts like flashcards. We did practice quizzes, as well as a few problems from her book. I sent her a practice test and a link to an online quiz database to practice for a test she has on Friday."
"We reviewed the student's last exam. We reviewed vocabulary and completed test topics for the next test on Wednesday. She has done a good job of remembering the vocabulary. She feels comfortable with the information. There are fewer technical terms. She has kept her materials organized."
