Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went over some very basic statistics this session, including the five number summary and hypothesis testing. We plan on meeting one more time for some in-depth hypothesis testing as well as confidence interval testing."
"Today was my first meeting with the student, who plans to take the GRE for the second time in about a month. We discussed some strategies that may help her with testing and talked about what study strategies she has used in the past. We worked through a few math problems and discussed the most efficient ways to solve these problems."
"Today, the student and I worked on test taking skills and relaxation skills while taking a test. We went through the 4th English and .5 of the 4th math test together. Working on different test taking skills while figuring what areas he still needs work. His score in English has already improved."
"Worked with the student on a paper about The Miller's Tale by Chaucer. He managed to get a thesis finished and create a writing-web for his paragraphs so that he knows where he is headed. He also wrote the first sentence to each paragraph. Lastly, we discussed how to look for and use the various examples presented to prove his thesis."
"Yesterday we went over diverging and converging lenses. Lenses are similar to mirrors so the equations are pretty much the same, the only thing that changes are the concepts and they do not change that much. I think that the student will do pretty well if she reviews the concepts again just so that she can understand them better the second time around."
"I covered more relationships of appreciation and depreciation of currencies. He had some trouble knowing how to solve the more difficult problems from his worksheet. His attitude was fine. I reviewed with him the logic behind working through the problems. The win is he seems to be understanding the underlying concepts."
