Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I continued to work through the review packet for his final. His recall is strong, and graphing function relationships comes much more easily to him now. We had a long discussion about recognizing and working with the proper format for circles."
"The student and I continued with a review of multiplication facts, and she completed a worksheet on division. We're still working on her understanding of inverse relations. She read a chapter from the Saddle Club book 3. She did a good job today."
"The student and I continued with review. He still has some trouble working with factoring of more complex polynomials, so we will continue to work on this. We also did a general review of logs, as he seemed unsure of many of the rules and procedures. We will continue with this review tomorrow. He is doing much better in our sessions, and has started to develop a much better math knowledge base. We also worked on using proper math language. We will continue to work on this in the coming sessions."
"The student and I continued work on trigonometric equations today. Our primary focus was on the application of trigonometry to word problems. I was very impressed with him today! He was understanding concepts without much need for explanation, and getting most of his answers correct. Occasionally, he would need to be sent in a particular direction to solve problems, but he was comfortable critically thinking about and computing the values that he needed. I am very confident that he will do well on his next exam for this section!"
"The student and I continued working on graphing lines and solving linear equations today. He mostly needed help checking his previous work and solving complicated one-variable equations. I also proofread the first draft of a paragraph he is working on for his Spanish class. He did a really good job on it."
"The student and I continued working on polynomials. Her homework was on squaring binomials. She understands this concept very well. She also had a quiz before the holiday break and had to do corrections. We went over the entire quiz and noted what mistakes were made, why, and how to do them correctly."
