Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued working on a review of the homework assignment she started yesterday. The assignment covered calculating confidence intervals, finding the probability of a certain number of outcomes with a binomial probability distribution, solving for a normal approximation of a binomial distribution, and utilizing a continuity correction."
"We covered chapter 6 and chapter 7 in preparation for the students upcoming exam. The student was struggling the most with using the z-score table, but understood when and how to use it by the end of the session. The student was very eager to understand all of the concepts in their entirety and was honest when she didn't understand a specific concept. I think the student was well prepared for the exam."
"We covered Chs. 7 and 8 from the student's Intro to Statistics course. This deals with hypothesis testing of means, differences, and proportions. She clearly understands how to reject or fail to reject a null hypothesis. She just needs a little guidance at first."
"We covered confidence intervals and proportion based confidence intervals as well as solving for N values in both types of confidence interval. The student had a great attitude towards the material and was able to make real progress in terms of understanding the underlying concepts relating to the material, which allowed him to begin figuring out how to solve variants of the problems we worked on on his own. I left the student to practice intervals and hypo-testing, which we plan to go over next week."
"We covered confidence intervals. The student was doing well with formulaic problems, but she was having trouble with word problems. I gave the student several examples for practice, as well as some additional material to cover before our next session."
"We covered correlation, regression, and probability. The student was struggling the most with knowing which formulas to use in some probabilities. Her attitude was great. I taught her some websites where she can study more."
