"I reviewed a test question on how to find angle using alternative interior angles. The student seemed to be doing fine. I introduced a systematic approach technique to solve the problem. Also, I advised him to draw a diagram from the word problem, so that he can see the problem clearly. He has plenty of homework, assigned by the teacher, to practice on. I coached him on how to solve the problems, and the approach he needed to use. He has shown an improvement in geometry since I first met him."
"In this session we covered a variety of angle types such as complementary, supplementary, linear, adjacent, etc. The student was able to solve for angles, and identify angle types, he has some problems with the definition of bisector but, he was able to identify a bisector. We reviewed for his upcoming exam and covered all the materials that were given for review."
"In this session, the student and I mostly studied for his quiz the next day. The subject is exponents, focusing on the zero law, product and quotient rule, raising products and quotients to a power, and negative exponents. We began the lesson by going over the statements of the rules and examples of when they are used. We then went into mixed practice that he did well in. Where the student struggled was in negative exponents. I walked him through the mechanics of why negative exponents invert the number, but the concept of multiplying the numerator and denominator by the reciprocal confused him. I tried to instead devise a simple way of remembering if numbers will "flip" into the denominator, and that seemed to work a bit better for him."
"In this session, we covered rotations and reflections. Afterwards, he seemed to master the reflections."
"In this session, we did some topics on geometry. We worked on angles and lines. The student worked on her class test and homework. It was an interesting time together. I gave her some materials and assignments for the next session."
"In this session, we talked about absolute value functions and their translations. She did a pretty job, and by the end, she was able to do all of them. We did horizontal, vertical, horizontal, and vertical reflecting over the x axis, and by looking at the a value, whether it compressed or stretched. Great job!"
