Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session, we discussed in more detail the processes of photosynthesis including the light dependent and light independent reactions. We also discussed Lewis Dot structures as well as 3D structure of molecules. The student was doing great with the concepts of photosynthesis and only struggled with some of the material regarding how Lewis Dot structures relate to their 3D structure. She was very willing to tackle this material. No scores yet, but she did have the assignments that we had worked on from last session. She received credit for them. She did great during the session and was able to accomplish a lot."
"Essentials of life, including sources and use of energy and information storage, was covered during this session with the student. He had no difficulty with the concepts covered, and he had a great attitude toward the material reviewed. Test taking strategies were included in this session. The student was left with no extra practice, and no scores or grades were seen. Thank you for such a pleasant student."
"For this session, we covered different microscopes and prokaryotic/ eukaryotic cell function and structure. We spent most of our time learning about cells. More specifically, we went over the differences between prokaryotes and eukaryotes. We made distinctions between plant and animal cells. Finally, we went over the organelles and their functions. The student was attentive, observant, and willing to learn. We used the whiteboard to make outlines for the cellular organelles. We made charts regarding differences between prokaryotes/ eukaryotes and plant/ animal cells. A win from this session is that she seemed to understand the material very well. Also, she already began to memorize a lot of the information we went over today."
"I administered a Biology diagnostic test -scored a 92%. The student needs to work on the process of Osmosis, but otherwise she knows basic bio concepts. Next session will focus on practice test review from class handout."
"In this session, we prepared for her upcoming quiz, which she did very well on. We covered atomic structures, Lewis structures, bonding, and the usage of the periodic table. We reviewed the worksheets given to her in class, and she seems to be doing very well in her class so far."
"Lab homework was reviewed. Protein and nucleic acid formation was reviewed through a step-by-step process, emphasizing the importance of each step. The student created a list of concepts that she should study to review at the next session. We also worked on reading comprehension."
