Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Covered work, fluid dynamics, and redox reactions briefly -- I will be sending her more materials to follow up here. It seems like she has a solid basic understanding of these concepts. She's starting a class so we'll discuss changes in schedule accordingly."
"We discussed the results from a test section. We discussed equipotential lines, a passage on optics, proportional analysis, the relationship between equilibrium and thermodynamics. We also discussed Fischer diagrams."
"During this session we went over concepts of Thermodynamics, Energy/Momentum, and Gasses. The student is planning on taking a practice MCAT soon so we can gauge his improvement in the physical science section."
"Today we covered material from the physical sciences section of the assessment. We went through a practice test and checked answers as we went. The student did a wonderful job on the test! I gave him some information for studying for all sections of the assessment. I look forward to working with this student again."
"We continued to go through waves, discussing the two major types of waves (longitudinal and transverse), and basic wave characteristics (speed, wavelength, frequency). We then focused in on sound, its properties, and common applications, such as Doppler effect and intensity. Next, we covered electrostatics. We reviewed the basics of charge and coulombs law, covered the four main formulas (force, electric field, potential, potential energy), and looked at visual representations of electric potential and electric field. We will go over magnetism next time."
"Today was a productive meeting. We began with a small discussion of Logic Games, using a section that the student had completed recently, but we quickly moved on to Logical Reasoning, and two sections that didn't go as well as they should have. We determined that his question identification skills are still lagging, so we worked on the different types of stems and how to classify them. Before next session, he's going to do a full length practice test with special attention to question classification."
