Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went over her last test. Her teacher is giving a makeup test to the entire class, so we wanted to go over what she got wrong to ensure she has a clearer understanding of everything. We also went over the next sections that are being covered in class that included different strategies for adding and subtracting integers. We will go over everything again next time as well to check for understanding."
"The student and I went over her math homework before we got started on our material. Throughout the session, she completed three 3-minute drills on subtraction, addition, and multiplication. We covered long division, both with and without decimal divisors."
"The student and I went over her new material which was logarithms. She and I went more into why you would use a log to solve problems. She and I went through her homework and notes to cover the concepts behind using logarithms."
"The student and I went over her notes for the new chapter and discussed the process for solving systems using elimination or substitution. She was familiar with the process, was getting used to the new terminology the teacher used, and was reacquainting herself with what to do to solve the problems. We also went over some word problems (application problems) to figure out what we should do to get the answers. She learned some new things and felt good about herself for being able to get the correct answers on her own."
"The student and I went over her review for her finals and other tests coming up. We skipped the stuff she was sure about and worked on what she needed help with: some work on arithmetic and geometric series, some transformations of polynomial functions, end behaviors of polynomial functions, and some piecewise functions, both creating a graph from the written function and writing the function from the graph. She is pretty well prepared for her final exam!"
"The student and I went over her review for the final. It was over expected value, definitions of surveys, and simulations of experiments and variables. She had the correct answers, and she knew how to do them. We did not meet for long because she did not have more that she wanted to go over."
