Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student is doing well so far in his class. We looked ahead at implicit differentiation and differentiating trigonometric functions. We also reviewed chain rule and quotient rule."
"Today, the student and I worked on mental computation and number sense by playing some increasingly complex games using dice. We incorporated order of operations, and he did well on a more complex exercise on this topic. He also completed the last half of lesson two in the equations program. His algebraic thinking is developing rapidly with this program."
"In today's session, the student and I covered the use of integration for finding volume of a revolved graph of a given function in given bounds."
"We covered advanced derivatives (trig, logs, exponents, radicals, and inverse trig). We did implicit differentiation and found values for which piecewise fxns are continuous and diffable. Particular emphasis was placed on using fractions to simplify equations and determining where a fxn and inverse fxn are diff'able."
"The student and I fully finished our lesson on probability. Since he grasped the concept of converting fractions into decimals early on, he found this subject to be fairly easy. We then focused on his current lesson in math, which is understanding ratios. He did very well with both topics today."
"During this session, we continued to work through practice worksheets for her upcoming test. They were very similar to the ones we did in our previous session, which included a lot of review of volume and area. It also included using the volume or area to find other measures of the shape. She did well with converting fractions to decimals or percents and vice versa. It was a good session."
