Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Geometry: covered all triangle congruency theorems, angles, line equations, slope, etc. Test review for the student's upcoming test. We did as many practice problems as we could and identified where she needs to spend more time practicing before the test."
"Today we covered proofs and parallelograms. The student did very well and picked up quickly. He has a test coming up so we are going to work tons of practice problems when we meet on Wednesday."
"We completed a triangle worksheet involving different centers. I also made sure he has been turning in his schoolwork."
"We continued with review for the student's final the following day. Among the concepts we covered were triangle congruence and parallel line/transversal proofs, transformations, and conditional statements. We used some mnemonics for conditional statements - "con"verse means to negate both sides of the statement, while "in"verse only reverses the order of the statements. I also went over the fact that when comparing a biconditional with a conditional statement, the part after "if" is the initial observation that supports the proof - she ended up having to use this knowledge in parallel line proofs as well."
"Review of previous week's session. Properties of triangles. Isosceles triangles. Review of corresponding and vertical angles. Proofs involving above. We reviewed class material and problems from the most recent week. Also, we reviewed questions introduced by me, and I left her one practice problem. She has an upcoming test, and we will be preparing for that."
"We worked on harder level problems involving right triangles. The student had to interpret the problem and use critical thinking skills to find the solutions. She was up to the task and did well in comprehending and arriving at the correct solutions for most of the problems."
