Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has a test tomorrow, so we spent the whole session studying for that. We reviewed some problems that she still feels unsure about and went over some old homework problems that she had trouble grasping the first time around. Her final is next week, so we will spend next week focusing on that."
"The student has a test tomorrow, so we went over a practice test that his teacher gave him. He is very bright, and he seemed to be able to focus on the work. I think there are some gaps in his math knowledge that we can work on."
"The student has a test tomorrow, so we went over exponential rules and none-real expressions. We went over domains and ranges, and how to combine expressions. We also talked about calculator tricks to check her work, and clues to look out for in problems to make sure she gets the correct answer."
"The student has a test tomorrow, so we went over his AP Statistics homework together and also reviewed some concepts he was confused about in this unit. The homework mainly concerned independent events and the multiplication rule. His teacher also has them using the Bayesian rule for some problems, so we went over that theorem and how we can solve problems with it using the formula and/or using a probability outcome tree."
"The student has a test tomorrow, so we worked on her review packets. She also has a test in Chemistry on Thursday, so we looked at some review questions for that as well."
"The student has a test tomorrow, so we worked on problems from the review sheet provided by the teacher. I believe he will do well on the questions that require him to perform synthetic division or long division, as he has a solid grasp on those methods. We worked mostly on problems that require him to graph polynomials, as he has had some difficulty incorporating the results of synthetic division into the more challenging task of graphing the polynomials. He was doing much better by the end of the session."
