Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went through some basic algebra, mostly solving equations and inequalities, focusing on one- and two-step equations and especially distribution. She has a little trouble working with positive and negative numbers, but it's primarily an issue of practice, so I gave her a little to work on before our next session."
"The student and I went through the product rule and quotient rule for taking derivatives. We will go over a few more derivatives next week."
"The student and I were able to jump right in and get started on his current homework. The current topic is Geometry, especially the realm of parallel lines, transversals and triangle similarity. He was fairly well versed in the basic concepts, but the application of these to his homework problems was a bit out of his grasp as we began. It didn't take long, however, for him to catch on. "
"The student and I were preparing for her test tomorrow. Her test involved domain/range, vertex, x and y intercepts, completing the square, and finding new slopes dependent on parallel or perpendicular slopes. We did a practice problem from the variety of concepts and reviewed her practice test/study guide. I am confident that the student will do well tomorrow based on her knowledge today."
"The student and I work through graphing linear equations given the two-points or a point and a slope. We also worked on his school project, which involves creating graphs and calculating slopes, distances, and midpoints."
"The student and I worked a worksheet on solving proportions. She had made some mistakes, but ultimately had a process down and got all the problems correct. She actually did understand the material. Good session."
