Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over all of the concepts that will be on her test and practiced them in multiple problems. She showed a good understanding of the concepts (completing the square, factoring, use of the quadratic equation, complex numbers, and complex fractions)."
"We went over angles between parallel lines intersected by another line. He is proficient in identifying when two angles are congruent or when the two angles will sum up to 180 degrees. When the angles are algebraic equations, he is capable of setting up the equations but still may need to improve on solving them. He is considerably quicker and more accurate than last semester."
"We went over Chapter 3.1 & 3.2 of his textbook covering functions and relations plus Linear functions. He struggled a little bit on finding domain & range plus determining whether a relation was a function or not. I showed him a few examples to help him comprehend what makes a relation a function. No scores or grades presented to me yet. He had several remaining exercises in his textbook that I recommended he practice on when he gets the chance but especially before his test on Thursday."
"We went over completing the square and converting standard form functions into functions in vertex form (and getting the vertex point, x-intercept, y-intercept, and line of symmetry of the quadratic functions). Our next session will be scheduled for tomorrow to go over these concepts more, so as to review for this upcoming Friday's exam."
"We went over direct variation and slopes and combining like terms. Our next session is on Sunday. I sent him with practice problems."
"We went over factoring quadratic equations using the guess and check method. We used a few strategies to help us succeed with these type of problems. We also progressed into factoring using the ac method. He gained a ton of confidence using this method. This session was a win!"
