How can a tutor help you with summer tutoring?

While it is unlikely that your child wants to study during the summer, it is very important that they do. Students who do not study at all over the summer are at risk of summer learning loss. Those who do not study during the summer can lose up to two months of math skills and up to three months of reading skills. This can cause them to fall behind in their classes because it can take up to six weeks to relearn the material once the school year starts again. If you want to try to make sure that your child does not fall behind in their classes, you should connect them with a private summer tutor. Varsity Tutors can find your child an expert summer tutor in New Haven who could teach them all the skills and strategies they need to do well in the summer.

Try to try to help your child get ready for the summer exam by contacting our educational directors in New Haven, CT, to get the help they need today. Your child's summer tutor allows them to work at their own pace. This means that they can spend as much time as they need to in order to understand the subject material. Their tutor can also identify which areas they need to review the most and devise a study plan that specifically targets those areas. This works towards the goal that they are getting the most out of their study sessions.

We got a head start on the student's science notes for the new chapter on types of rock. He did a good job leading this and working on the section's key points. We moved on to his high school entrance exam vocabulary note cards, and that took us the rest of the time.

The student and I reviewed new key terms/people for her history class. She memorizes content quickly by selecting key words from the definition. This strategy works for matching (which is one quiz format her instructor uses). We'll work on this before she takes her next chapter exam. The second area we worked on was Spanish. Her Spanish skills are good. She mainly needs to work on spelling and remembering when to use masculine or feminine articles (e.g., un and una). Lastly, we reviewed her English vocab. She did pretty well on spelling.
