Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on a reading guide for U.S. history. It covered chapters in his textbook on the Great Depression."
"I went over information regarding US History with the student, as her US history final is in the upcoming week."
"We worked on the current chapter of the book. We also worked on note cards for study and how to tell what to add."
"We worked on her French homework, which dealt with demonstrative pronouns as well as adjectives that go before the noun (BAGS - beauty, age, goodness, size). During the next session the student didn't have homework, so we did a review. In particular, we focused on the negatives. She's made INCREDIBLE progress on several of the irregular verbs. I think she was more comfortable with the negative expressions. Good idea to shore up the verbs she only sort of knows and to continue to hammer home vocabulary. Exercises I give her in the future perhaps should focus on vocabulary."
"The student and I started by correcting his homework. He needed specific directions on some of the writing pieces. From there, we did a little bit of reading comprehension. As seems to be the pattern, he is showing vast improvements in his reading ability and is guessing less and less. After that, we did some math with dice, and he continues to respond very well to the dice games with math. He has shown vast improvement with his math skills and may even be a little ahead in math. After that, we worked with a math program. He is again showing vast improvements with algebraic thinking and was able to work through some of the puzzles without any of my help."
"The student made a pretty good effort and had success on the very tough universe passage! I see that exponents, creating equations, and inequalities are some areas to improve upon. We will continue to work on this next session."
