"We met twice today, once in the morning and once in the evening. The student was having trouble understanding the logic in Sturm Liouville problems. We went through 3 examples, one with two Dirichlet boundary conditions, one with two Neumann boundary conditions and one with mixed Robin and Dirichlet boundary conditions. We had to use a lot of elemental algebraic techniques, the intermediate value theorem, and some differential equation theorems."
"Today, the student multiplied polynomials. She did a very good job of distributing a monomial by binomials, trinomials, and polynomials of 4 terms. Then, we covered multiplying binomials by using the distributive method. She did a pretty good job at that also. She is very good at combining like terms, and that is a very good skill to have in this section."
"The student and I went over half of a practice AP Statistics multiple choice test. She honestly seems to have a really solid understanding of the material, and I had to provide very little help/explanation since she got almost every question correct on her own."
"We covered law of cosines, law of sines, and integration by u-substitution. The student had a positive attitude toward the material. I left her with a u-substitution practice worksheet that has several worked examples."
"We studied for the student's history test the next day. She made flashcards for both chapters; we went over each flashcard, discussing important points. We have figured out an effective method for her to study."
"We went over many properties of matrices and then determinants. We went over how to take a determinant, the properties if the matrix is changed, and applying them to find the area of a parallelogram and volume of a parallelepiped. The student understood the material and did well with it."
