Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student read a story to me in Spanish to practice pronunciation. She then had to translate the story as best as she could. As a homework assignment, I asked the student to find and highlight all of the words in the story that she does not know. Then, using context clues, try to determine what each word means."
"Math homework -graphing Slopes and coordinate graphing. We clarified the slope formula and how to find the slope of a line. Reviewed interior angles for multi-sided objects and how to find the missing angle. Lit home work, 5 questions. Reviewing the deeper meaning behind the simple narration of Scout as a child. "
"Student 1: went over Spanish for her test tomorrow. Then went over algebra since she has a quiz tomorrow as well. Student 2: went over algebra as well (different levels). Worked on graphing equations, and deriving equations from graphs."
"The student and I reviewed long division from our last session. She did very well on her homework, but she still had a couple mistakes and still needs more practice. We also started reviewing measurements, which was a little more challenging for the student to grasp. She has trouble figuring out when to multiply and when to divide, so we will need to spend a significant portion of our sessions covering unit conversions."
"Today we covered knowledge related with exponent calculation. In the first two hours, we did algebra exercises. Then we shifted to chemistry and learned period table. Chemistry exercises were covered as well."
