Tutoring review by Raymond in Muskego, WI
During this section we largely worked on some AP style questions from a practice test. These problems were from a full practice test that covered all of the material that he will be responsible for on the actual AP test. His class has completed his book, so he has all of the information and background for the test. These questions are quite a bit more difficult than what we've been dealing with in his class so far. The specific material included everything from probabilities, to study design, to interpretation of software output in both multiple choice and short answer format. The student needs a little more practice but he's in good shape and has a lot of time left before the test to practice.

Today we reviewed a lot of probability. Simple probability like independent multiplication and sequences. Next time we will hone in more on permutations.

Tutoring review by Timothy in Muskego, WI
After a summer off the student's father coordinated for a review to get her ready for school. They provided me with review material to help get her ready. For physics we reviewed harmonic motion. This was part review and part lesson as this topic wasn't covered in depth the last semester. I feel we did a sufficient review in our time. Next time we will go over waves, which are new. Our discussion was mostly about potential and kinetic energy. For calculus her skills came back very quickly. We made it through every section other than related rates and logarithmic derivatives. We will start there next week and then go into anti-derivatives as a preview of Calc 2.

We went over how to use 'soy' vs. 'star' when conjugating the verb 'to be' when talking about yourself. We learned it by going over common 'I am...' phrases and seeing how they would be said in Spanish. I rewarded the students good answers with an airplane game incentive, and we watched a short video.

Today, I worked with the student on multiplying and dividing whole and mixed numbers. She did very well on it. After math, we worked on reading skills. I pulled a higher grade level text, and we worked on figuring out difficult vocabulary words.

Tutoring review by Jan in Muskego, WI
The student and I introduced ourselves, and I oriented her to the platform. We then decided to start by going over her exams from the start of the year. She scanned in the first test and e-mailed the pages to me. We covered the first half of the exam, focusing on how she makes decisions about which answer to select. We covered important foundational material.
