Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, the student and I put together a study guide for a quiz he has on Thursday that is on labor unions, industrialization, and the progressive movement. We talked about each term that was on the study guide given by the teacher, and then wrote down what we had talked about so that he could study that. We also worked on his worksheet that was due for his history class. We also continued to work on his note cards for his informative essay for his English class. I asked him to finish his note cards before our tutoring session tomorrow so that we could work on the outline tomorrow together."
"Today the student and I reviewed 20 multiple choice questions out of the U.S. History state exam review book. These questions included topics such as the Civil War, Reconstruction, Monroe Doctrine, Constitution, First Amendment, Judicial Review, and Industrialization. Additionally, I lectured on Unit III, Chapter I: "Reform In America", which covers Progressive Era Reform, Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson. I left the student with terms and told him to read Unit III, Chapter II: "The Rise of American Power"."
"The student and I reviewed the slides from the past two weeks of class. Then we pushed ahead through the first few slides of this coming week. She tells me she is doing better on the daily quizzes and only got one wrong today. We reaffirmed that she needs to record key terms and vocab words in the back of her notebook so that she can look up the terms later."
