Munster, IN Spanish tutoring
Today's Spanish lesson was about farm animals. She watched a video of "The Three Little Pigs" being read aloud in Spanish while I wrote down the following animal names: cat, dog, bird, cow, horse, chicken, cow, sheep, pig, wolf, and duck. After she finished watching the story I asked her if she understood what they were saying. She said she understood, but she didn't know what "casita" means. I explained it meant house and when you add "-ito" or "-ita" to a word it means small, so "casita" means "small" house. Then I had her say each animal name in Spanish a couple of times before writing it down in her notebook. After this, I asked her which animal is her favorite. She told me that the horse is her favorite animal so I had her write that down in Spanish: "Mi animal favorito es el caballo". She read this sentence aloud a couple of times to practice her pronunciation. After saying the alphabet in Spanish a couple of times I introduced "Feelings" to her. I had her draw a happy, sad, and proud face, and then I taught her to say each emotion in Spanish. We will cover "Foods" during our next tutoring session, and we will continue discussing "Feelings".
