Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student was working on quadrilaterals in his math class. We went through a practice worksheet that contained problems on solving for an unknown angle using a little bit of algebra. He did well after I gave him a quick recap of how to solve these problems. He is definitely improving his math skills."
"Worked on problems related to congruent triangles, then on problems dealing with finding critical points using a graphing calculator, and finally word problems with quadratic forms."
"The student needed assistance with parabolas. We spent the time going through the concepts and working out problems. He had a keen grasp of the material."
"We covered the student's concepts of triangle proofs and parallel proofs. The main crux of this session was to familiarize her with how to plan out solving a proof, and how to get from start to finish. I stressed that organization was key during this entire session, as well as being able to think critically and flexibly."
"After working with Student 1 for 45 minutes, I got the sense that she understood proofs and had a strong thought process for the material that was covered. She only needed some practice with another person to feel more confident about the material and her preparation for her quiz the next day. Student 2 and I worked for 90 minutes on probability problems. She seemed to get a better grasp of the material as our session progressed, and based on a sample quiz she showed me, she should do well on her quiz."
"We began reviewing for the student's midterm exam today. The concepts we worked with most were labeling angles and working with angles in triangles. She seems to be struggling with the relationships between angles. She did well on her test today after our first session. As far as study skills go I suggest that she works on similar problems until she feels comfortable doing them on her own. She seems optimistic and more confident the more we review. Before our first session she was getting a D in the class, on her most recent test she scored an 88%."
