Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Equations and graphing Parabolas, Equations and graphing circles. Taught Hyperbola's and their equation, how to graph and its characteristics."
"We went through her homework on combinations. We focused on when to use a combination and when to use a permutation, and how to simplify fractions involving factorials."
"We continued the final exam review, mainly covering exponential properties and properties of functions."
"Today we talked about graphing and solving rational equations. The student picked up the basics pretty quickly. We will continue going over these concepts during the next session."
"The student and I continued our discussion on quadratic polynomials. We used the quadratic formula to find the roots of a few polynomials, paying attention to what the b^2 - 4ac term implies about the number of roots. I then showed the student how to factor quadratics by looking at the factors of the c term and choosing the pair that sums up to the b term. I showed him some examples of quadratics that don't factor easily, and explained why these require the use of the quadratic formula. The student is making excellent progress."
"The student and I finished reviewing her math homework (simplifying algebraic fractions) and then reviewed the previous three lessons. We didn't get a chance to go over the Cumulative Reviews that were assigned, but we'll try to catch them the next time. If we consistently run out of time to do the CRs, then we may need to add a second weekly session. We'll continue with the current plan for another week or two and then reevaluate. As concerns her current understanding, she seemed to get the concepts once we reviewed them. She was able to correctly solve all of the problems I threw at her, so I'm confident in her abilities. We'll review some more next week and see if she has been able to retain the information. Overall, she worked really hard and did a great job!"
