Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over SAT reading strategies and essay writing techniques. I have assigned the student practice problems to focus on these techniques, daily vocabulary words, and writing exercises."
"We began the session completing 2 worksheets on using commas with restrictive/non-restrictive clauses. The student had some questions on the more complex examples. I think after working through the problems, he felt more confident in how to distinguish which sentences require commas. The student worked through three English passages. On the first two, he made only one error, and by the third, he hadn't made any errors. I put together a four-passage reading test. The student completed it (timed for 35 minutes) with over 2 minutes to spare. He scored somewhere between a 30 and 32, depending on which source we used. He got 34 correct out of 40. This is our last scheduled session before test time. I think the student feels more confident; he is certainly equipped with the strategies and content knowledge to do well."
"We worked on reviewing math topics for the SAT. He is smart and remembered things quickly. He doesn't have too much difficulty with the concepts."
