Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We focused on test corrections and concept review. We analyzed portions of the study guide covering topics such as periodic trends, percent composition, and the periodic law. We continued with compound nomenclature and a review of ionic and covalent compounds. He completed practice problems."
"We reviewed questions the student had in preparation for her final exam. We mostly reviewed glycolysis regulation under hormonal control, the urea cycle and fatty acid synthesis. I believe she will do well."
"We went over some more universal gravitation law and Kepler's law. The student is taking a test on Thursday, so went over some concepts to ensure a good grade on his test! Tomorrow I'll be arranging a packet of worksheets for him to do to prepare for the final next week."
"During our session today, the student and I prepared for his upcoming final in his circuits course. We worked on nodal analysis, using KVL and KCL, and Laplace transforms. We practiced converting resistances, inductances, and capacitances into the s domain, and also the jw domain."
"During the session, I assisted the student with her homework that dealt with determining solubility/insolubility when mixing two reagents together. I helped her work on balancing equations, writing complete ionic and net ionic equations, and other related topics. By the end, she seemed much more comfortable with the material and felt confident to continue working on her homework after our session."
"During this session, the student and I continue adding to her study guide and reviewing content that will be on her biology final. In this time, we were able to review the differences between passive and active transport, the effects on a cell placed in different solutions (hypertonic, etc.), and the roles of the organelles within a cell. The student seemed more confident in her ability to do well on the exam; we hope to build that confidence even further during our session on Tuesday night prior to the final."
