Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went through colors, parts of the body, different foods, movements and numbers. The student is catching on to everything and with continued practice, she should do great on her exam."
"The student and I covered his homework: a reading passage in Spanish about the Camino de Santiago in Spain. He had a determined and focused attitude. I left him with a question to reflect on and to write about, the Analisis Literario section of his reading passage."
"We reviewed for the student's test tomorrow. We covered if then clauses - she did really well at identifying which verb conjugations to use. We also reviewed when something is subj. or indicative, or just conditional. She did well overall, I have confidence she's do very well on her test."
"The prepositions and formal commands were covered today. The student had a dictation and wrote ten sentences using the reflexive verbs and other ten sentences using prepositions. He then translated into English the last ten sentences. He also practiced reading. He is making progress in his Spanish; he has a better pronunciation and he is able to write in Spanish what he hears. He has memorized the vocabulary taught."
"The student and I began with reviewing some basics coupled with the two main present tenses. We then moved into the two main past tenses while incorporating elements of her recent trip. We reviewed the simple future as well. At one point in the lesson, we read a passage together in Spanish. She then was asked to tell me the English equivalent of the Spanish story. We concluded our session with a discussion of how she would like to spend her final session."
"The student and I checked his work on commands and discussed DOPs and IOPs. We reviewed reflexive verbs and reflexive pronouns and commands with pronouns. We worked on the command tense in the various forms with double object pronouns. He was sent homework over the weekend as well for more practice to continue working with pronouns and commands."
