Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over homework problems and lab sheets on thermodynamics for chemistry. For the last 15-20 minutes we worked on some math, focusing on complex numbers and some graphing."
"We worked through problem solving techniques on math-y questions in both chem lab and lecture portions. I couldn't help with some of the material on the lab exam, but it's possible that some answers come directly from the manual."
"We covered quadratic equations in relation to velocity and how to find vertices from equation or how to estimate time. The student was comfortable with new information provided and just needs to brush up on her graphing calculator skills. She seemed to have an overall positive grasp of it all."
"The student and I spent this session going over the math test that he is retaking. It is the same one we worked on previously, and it had to do with domains, piecewise functions, and function composition and combination."
"The student and I went over quantum energy levels and electron configuration. He found the material very intuitive and had already been exposed to it in class. The only thing we needed to work on was applications of some of the main principles behind electron configurations: Hund's rule, the Pauli Exclusion principle, and the Aufbau principle. We simply went through the chapter in his textbook, and I quizzed him on some application questions found in the book."
"The student and I went through Lattice Enthalpy. She had a small amount of trouble understanding the differences between sublimation, atomization, ionization, and electron affinity. However, with explanations, she had a wonderful "light bulb moment" that made the rest of the session a breeze. I look forward to our session."
