Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During our tutoring session, the student completed an Algebra II worksheet. He had a few problems left to finish for homework, and he was confident in completing it without help. We also read over material for his New Testament class. He took notes and summarized the information. We also read chapter 7 of Lord of the Flies."
"The student and I reviewed his practice exam study guide for his final. We went over more topics he was struggling with. He did well but I emphasized to him the importance of slowing down, approaching each problem carefully, then checking his work."
"The session this evening was spent discussing goals for our sessions and the student's future plans. We worked on 10th grade English Literature. We covered literary terms and he looked up unfamiliar words. He is such a delightful, intelligent young man. I am looking very forward to future sessions."
"We went through the student's Homer assignment and reworked the content and structure of the assignment. The student has some really great ideas and thoughts surrounding The Odyssey. The student got a B on his Latin test that we reviewed on! It is quite an improvement, since his last test; he got a C."
"This afternoon, the student worked to construct the rough draft of the essay that she began on Monday. She was engaged and did a great job digging in, even when she was a bit unsure of how she would explain herself. I observed a boost in her confidence today."
"The student and I had a great session. We made good use of the time. We laid out a schedule for her upcoming assignments and tests/ quizzes, and began talking about the big research essay she has coming up in her English class. She has maintained her routine and has continued to reduce her study time, all while either maintaining or improving her grades. My hope is that she is learning how to make her study and homework time as productive as possible, and that she can apply these lessons in her future coursework as a high school and college/ university student."
