"We worked today on the student's homework, using the quadratic formula to find the solutions of parabolic equations. He was able to accomplish the work with no problem at all."
"The student and I covered more free response questions from his given AP practice tests. He did very well with the material and seems well prepared for his final. We went over a variety of problems covering most major concepts found in calculus AB. His final, which he will take at the end of next week, will be the final note of progress."
"Today, the student and I competed his math assignment. The assignment involved identifying rays, lines, line segments, and angles. The concepts are review from past assignments, and he did well with the assignment on his own. However, he still struggles with some concepts and needs some foundational reminding. I will continue with extra examples and expanding concepts so he has a wide base of knowledge to pull from."
"We worked on polar, parametric, and rectangular equations. She did very well with the content tonight! I can't say she really struggled anywhere! She seemed a little uneasy with using arctan to solve for polar coordinates, but that's about it, so we talked about how to always use arctan for polar coordinates since you won't rely on previously solved answers to get new answers (could give you wrong answers if you weren't correct in the first place!). She has a few problems to finish on her homework quiz. She was definitely more comfortable than last time."
"The student and I worked together on his final paper, a research proposal for his dissertation. He already had his draft done, so we went through discussing the design and the statistical components. We then did further drafts in order to polish it up. Overall, it was a strong proposal, well-written and highly explanatory."
"For the days lesson we covered sketching out the graph of a function, finding the critical points using the first derivative test, and finding local minima, maxima, and inflection points using the second derivative. The student wanted some assistance understanding some example problems she worked through with her teacher. I was able to clarify and explain what she didn't know and it seemed like a win!"
