Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over energy and work problems in addition to covering concepts regarding circular motion. We went over some problems that the student did not understand until she understood the concepts and felt better about the material."
"I continued to help the student study for his test tomorrow. Today we went over material regarding sources of magnetic fields. Working through some of the book problems was very helpful for him, and I recommended he do additional problems."
"The student did very well. The concepts and style of physics problems are being more familiar to her. In essence, each section is about variable hunting and derivation, which she is getting the hang of. After learning the concepts, the process is basically the same for each section. This is her last section before her exam, and I left her with an excess of practice problems with answers in order for her to check her work. I feel confident that she will do fine on her upcoming final."
"We covered significant figures, SI prefixes and units, scientific notation, relative motion, scalars, vectors, and resolving vectors into their components. He was willing to learn and move forward, which I liked to hear. I'm going to be sending him an email with a list of topics I intend to cover over the course of the summer."
"We covered some chemistry (Avogadro's constant, moles), electric field, and began on electric flux. The student seemed to have a good understanding on the fundamentals of the subject, but he appreciated clarification on some issues. He was also quick to better understand any material that he was initially unsure of. This was the first lesson, so it was a good opportunity to gauge his proficiency in physics. I strongly believe he will able to meet and even exceed his stated goals."
"We covered standing waves and sound. We also briefly touched upon general test-taking strategies and ways to approach multiple-stage questions. The student seems both confident and capable heading into her final exam on Thursday."
