The student is very smart and has worked hard in preparing for the MCAT so far. We went through a practice biological science test, taking extra time on passages, going slowly, and really focusing on what information is useful from the passage. She was able to get most of the questions correct, and only would have missed 5-6 questions on the whole test. The key will be thinking of how the MCAT likes to ask questions. Sometimes they're being tricky, but other times straightforward.

We went over many Gravitational Field passages. The main points I wanted to hammer down were: understanding how the units matter and are crucial to finding the answer, how to find the relationship between two different scenarios, and how to predict the change in an expression as one variable changes. Lastly, we discussed how to relate an equation to a graph, specifically an inversely proportional relationship. The main extra practice that I suggested was memorizing the necessary equations, and really practicing how to find units quickly, as each second is crucial.

We worked for 1.5 hours on a number of things. We revisited the question of which date would be best to take the test. We settled on late August with the possibility of pushing it back to September. We then went over difficult questions from the prior week. We finished up by talking about some strategy with regards to reading passages and graphs.

Fetal/Adult circulation. [PROGRESS/CHALLENGES]: The student seems to have an inconstant understanding of concepts in Newtonian Mechanics, like Tension. We reviewed those concepts and the student was able to see how our discussion of Surface Tension related to the internal/external Pressure balance on an elastic fluid container to govern the pressure changes in the nascent baby's CV system.
