Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Student #1 and I reviewed some of the vocab he learned in the past. While reviewing, he also learned a couple new vocab word today: socks and boat. Student #2 and I drew pictures while reviewing body parts and colors. Then I taught her stories from the Chinese story book and her new vocab words for today were quick, wolf, pig and "come here". We also reviewed the how to write "heart" in Chinese."
"We had a good session today. Today we mostly talked about dates and numbers. We also learned how to express things about dates in sentences. Today's lesson was hard; however, the students did very well and I was proud of them! Next time, we'll start from the pair work in Lesson Seven."
"I just had a lesson with this student, and it was awesome. I totally can tell he is improving. He knows many Chinese words and the way he creates a sentence is much better than the way he did before. I am so glad to see that. Today we talked about many other Chinese words and some new phrases. He said he is going to study and I am looking forward to having our next lesson."
"Today was spent on review of yesterday's vocabulary list. It was good writing practice and a useful pronunciation/vocab review. Tomorrow we will have a mini-quiz on the words we have learned so far."
"Today we learned the second type of question structure, and reviewed the simple statement and first type of question. We then used these sentences to talk about family members-- introducing their relationship, asking their names and where they are, and ask confirming question. By this activity we could also practice some family terms."
"Today, we have reviewed about self-introduction, we also learned vocabulary about animals such as horse, sheep and so on. I add daily conversation content about how to say a girl is cute, a lady is beautiful, a boy is handsome... in Chinese. The student showed a strong ability for connecting and a rich imagination. She has some tiny problems about pronunciation, and I feel by keeping reading she could improve on that."
